Retaining Walls, Water Fall, and Paving Stone Patio

in

North Vancouver

This Landscape Project in North Vancouver started out with replacing a slippery wooden deck and a crumbling stone retaining wall.  Our Landscape Design replaced the deck with paving stones, and by excavating into the hillside and building Allan Block Walls, the new patio offered much more space for entertaining.  We removed some large overgrown shrubs from the back yard landscaping and built a stone walkway that leads to a stone bridge across the waterfall.  The path ends at a small stone bench that overlooks the entire landscaping project.  By the end of our landscaping adventure we had also included an upper patio, and a  perennial garden.  The existing patio cover had a broken glass panel and three support posts, one of which landed in the middle of the seating area.  We replaced it with a new cedar pergola using lightweight Polycarbonate roof panels, and used a Microllam beam sandwiched between cedar timbers to span the 20' roof structure and not have a middle post in the way.
